Rescue Life of Children (RLC) is working to ensure that every child receives a good quality education, and learns the skills they will need to thrive in the 21st century. All children have the right to go to school and learn, regardless of who they are, where they live or how much money their family has.
We are breaking down the barriers to education by helping poor and vulnerable children – including those who are living in conflict and disaster zones in south sudan- access early childhood and primary school services. Our work is leading the way in improving literacy and numeracy skills, helping teachers to teach and children to learn in South Sudan.
To build a world in which every child learns, RLC will increasingly promote equity and inclusion. This includes making targeted efforts for children who are excluded on the basis of gender, disability, poverty, ethnicity and language, as well as those who are displaced or affected by emergencies.
Through the funding support from UNICEF RLC is implementing the provision of emergency basic primary education and ECDE project in Aweil East and Aweil South. It is operating in 266 primary schools and 5 cattle camps (Mobile Schools). Our Education programs focus on key activities on construction of temporary learning spaces(TLS), training of ECD and primary teachers, distribution of scholastic materials and textbooks, conduct back to learning campaigned (BTLs), formation of school management committee, Capacity building for education managers, Parents teachers association and conduct community consultation meetings.
